The Re-Opening of Axistence...
(Scroll to the bottom for the TLDR version)
Over the last few months, the world changed. We've all had to adapt and get creative. Working from home, ungodly amounts of screen time, Zoom calls, wearing masks, washing your hands (hopefully you were already doing that), but you get it, life looks a bit different now than it did in January.
COVID-19 is the biggest disruption in the fitness industry since fitness became an industry! And trust us, we want things to go back "normal" just as quickly as you do. We also understand that no one actually knows what this new "normal" will be. Although the future may be uncertain, there are tactics we can employ to ensure the safety of every one of our members moving forward.
After listening to the feedback of the community, we learned that if we opened the doors tomorrow, a lot of you would show up smiling and ready to throw down! We also know that many of you need more time. So to ensure your safety, as well as abide by the federal and state guidelines, we will be implementing a phased approach to re-opening.
This page will serve to keep you updated on where we are in these phases and what that means for you.

Phase One:Estimated Start Date: 5/4/20
Duration: 1-2 Weeks With the training center closed, we've been busy creating online content, cleaning the training center, and planning for the future. In Phase 1, the equipment, floors, bathrooms, etc. will be given a deep clean. Axistence will likely be the cleanest place you visit (if you do decide to train on-site). Training areas will be sectioned off to ensure proper social distancing protocols, and also allow the athletes to have plenty of space to reap their GAINZ. The Axistence Anywhere (online) program will continue to roll as before with a few more options as well. |
AXISTENCE ANYWHERE
|
|
Phase Two:
Estimated Start Date: 05/16/20
Duration: Ongoing (until groups are permitted to gather in greater numbers)
All work and no fist bumps make Axistence coaches go crazy... And although our congratulatory fist-bumps may now take the form of the "WuHan Hi-five" (Foot to foot), we could potentially see you sooner than you think! Phase 2 training options will open up a few more doors (literally and figuratively).
Abiding by the CDC guidelines, as well as our state and local legislature, we will be offering a few options for training.

Option #1
IN-PERSON TRAINING
We are now offering training sessions within the walls of the Axistence facility, in two forms:
|
Option #2
AXISTENCE ANYWHERE (virtual training)
We are still offering training sessions virtually for you via Zoom, FB Live, and Youtube full follow-along training sessions.
|
OUTDOOR TRAINING (MEET-UPS)
As for larger group classes, we're at the mercy of the local government for those guidelines... As per the latest resource:
"Gatherings in both public and private spaces of more than 10 people are prohibited in Denver and across Colorado while the Safer at Home strategy is in effect."
We feel like it would be pretty cool to do our first “group” class on a Saturday at 9:00am (just like the good ole days) but this time outdoors in a local (to be determined) park. This initial meet-up will give our members the option to join their Axistence comrades in a public setting and aimed at getting us back in the habit of training together physically and talking to real humans face to face :)
And don't worry! For those of you that are crushing it in your virtual programs, we will continue classes via Zoom, FB Live, Accountability Check-ins, and YouTube follow-alongs. Shout-out to all of you who have been showing up and getting those Pandemic PRs! It’s amazing what a little structure and accountability will do, eh?

For those of you who wish to join us in the park:
- We’ll be running 2 classes (9:00am to 9:45) and (10:00am to 10:45) on Saturday (First class to be held on 5/16)
- These classes will be limited to 9 people at a time and will be for active members only. ***You will be required to RSVP via ZenPlanner in order to attend these classes. No better time than a pandemic to get used to checking in for class right?
- The classes will be organized so that athletes are socially distant, and GAINZ efficient!
- Bring the equipment that was loaned out to you (DB, KB, Plate....maybe a backpack, we’ll let you know beforehand)
- After class, we encourage everyone move to a secondary location (close-by) to hang out, bring a beverage or snack and maybe even make a picnic out of it! Just stick to the rules, otherwise we could get fined, or you know worst case scenario we die, so there’s that.
Phase 3:
Estimated Start Date: ?????? (Hopeful estimation: 6/1/20)
Duration: Ongoing
AXISTENCE ANYWHERE (virtual training) continues...
- Students will still have access to certain virtual programs (We'll find the best solutions to meet your needs).
ON-SITE: ONE-ON-ONE & SEMI-PRIVATE continues...
ADDITION OF LARGER GROUP CLASSES:
- Members will be required to RSVP for class previous to class time via the Zen Planner app. This will minimize physical contact as well as keep a log to determine which members were in which class...keep reading to see why that's important.
- Members will be encouraged to change shoes before they train.
- The class schedule will be spread out (no back-to-back classes) to ensure proper cleaning before and after each session.
- To ensure maximum social distancing, classes may look a little smaller than before (TBD).
- Axistence Coaches will not use any tactile cues or make contact with members.
- Axistence Coaches will wear proper PPE when coaching. Members will be encouraged to do the same.
- Equipment returns will begin for those athletes re-entering group classes.

Ongoing Operations:
Axistence was founded on the core values of Adventure, Community, and Education.
As the future unfolds, we will be embracing each one of those core values, as well as creating and setting responsible standards for the fitness community at large.
ADVENTURE: "An unusual or exciting, typically hazardous event or activity".
Congratulations! It turns out you're actually living through one of the longest adventures of your life right now!!!
COMMUNITY: "A group of people who live or gather in the same place, sharing a common mindset, common goals, and experiences."
In our case, this community of Axistence Athletes possess the abundance mindset, coming together for fitness, adventure, skill development, and ultimately to live their most active existence. Without our members, Axistence is just a philosophy. You are what brings Axistence to life!
EDUCATION: "An enlightening experience".
We promise to keep you educated, updated, and as enlightened as possible on the future of the Axistence, the fitness industry, as well as the best ways for you to achieve your most active existence!
We are committed to providing our community the education, best practices and as much up-to-date information as possible. Also, as much as we're staying up to date on the best practices and new creative ideas, we would also like to hear YOUR ideas! There are so many amazing people and businesses doing things to help the greater good right now. If you have an idea or come across a system/best practice/possibility that you think may be able to help your Axistence community, please don't hesitate to share it with us. We want to hear from you!
ONE MORE THING:
Each morning we wake up, there's risk involved in everything we do. Although we can't manage all of your risks throughout the day, what we can do is manage the risks associated with the training center. If at some point, any of our members or coaches do contract COVID-19, we ask that they promptly notify us so that we may take the necessary steps. As we'll be diligently tracking attendance, we'll notify anyone who may have had contact with that individual within the last 14 days. It's our commitment to you to be 100% transparent on any and all incidents to manage risks.
Over the last couple of months, we've learned that Axistence Athletes are not only strong, but also creative, steadfast, patient, and most of all adaptable. What does the future hold? Well, that's up to us...
"The best way to predict the future is to create it".
- Abraham Lincoln
Here's to each and every one of us creating a future that we're proud of.

This place is more than just a place to work out. My training here has allowed me to tackle challenges outside of the gym with confidence including climbing fourteeners, rock climbing, obstacle course racing and adventure motorcycling. The fantastic community they have created has introduced me to great friends that have challenged me in the gym and pushed me to tackle new experiences outside the gym. This place is second to none.
