Dan Jimenez
Credentials:
|
Dan has an extremely varied approach to fitness, and does not subscribe to the dogma of any one fitness system. He takes the best practices from each discipline, combining them together to develop programs that produce strong, flexible, and healthy individuals.
A graduate of Rutgers University and the US Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps, Dan spent a total of 10 years as a Security Forces Officer ultimately achieving the rank of Major. During this time, he realized what he liked most about the job was training Airmen in physical fitness and outdoor survival skills. In 2012, after his second overseas deployment, he decided it was time to take what he had learned and dedicate himself to training people in fitness, survival and outdoor readiness. Dan went on to create Axistence Athletics as an outlet to train people in the Denver, Colorado area. Dan doesn't normally speak in the third person, however, upon extensive research on internet etiquette, he realized that it seems to be the norm. |
Ryan Humphries
Credentials:
|
Growing up, Ryan spent most of his early days climbing trees and exploring the local forests and creeks of Southeast Missouri. Although Tom Sauk Mountain (the highest point in Missouri at 1,772ft) is a fun hike, he dreamed of heading west to get the real mountain experience.
After four years of active duty in the US Navy as an Aviation Electronics Technician, he realized that although electronics are neat, they were far from fulfilling. He decided to pursue a degree at Southeast Missouri State University in Health Management & Exercise Science. After graduating, he headed west for adventure, settling in Denver, Colorado in 2009. That same year he began personal training at one of those "big box gyms" and continued there for nearly 4 more years. Although changing lives one at a time at a time is great, he felt he could make a larger impact in a slightly different environment... Combining ancestral health principles and the latest research on exercise science he has developed a set of "Prymal Guidelines" for fitness and nutrition. Using these guidelines, he helps individuals unlock their full genetic potential to unleash "Axistence" (a life of Active Existence). Although he graduated school in 2009, he has continued to educate himself in the ever-changing fitness industry. Although he loves attending fitness seminars, reading research papers or listening to the latest health & wellness pod-casts (yeah, he's kind of a nerd) he's also extremely passionate about personal development in the realm of transformation. Call him woo woo, but he believes that we can live in a world that we design (He also loves The Greatest Showman). Ryan has never really liked speaking in the third person either but, when in Rome... |
Garrett Sylvester
Credentials:
|
Garrett always enjoyed moving and playing outdoors as a kid. During high school, he played football and wrestled. Wrestling quickly piqued his interest and he began pursuing ways to become a better wrestler. He attended wrestling camps, practices at other schools, and weight training during the off-season. In college, Garrett continued his passion for movement studying Kinesiology at Michigan State University.
While learning about the human body in motion, he practiced several movement disciplines that included functional weight training, capoeira, yoga, natural movement, kettlebells, and gymnastics throughout the years. He took what he learned from these disciplines and moved to Colorado to use his skills in the mountains with hiking and climbing on rocks being his favorite activities. Combining the knowledge of each discipline, he teaches people how to get stronger and move better to enhance their adventures. Garrett struggled with whether he should write this in the third person, but after immense peer pressure, he decided to do it "just to be ironic". |
