By Ryan Humphries Co-Founder, Coach: Axistence Wanna add a few years to your life? Sure, you could covet the One Ring like Isildur, Gollum, Bilbo, and Frodo and that may help extend your life…Or you could take a more scientific approach. * Want to have healthy skin? Hydrate
Your body can either be a juicy steak or a piece of beef jerky. It might be annoying to pee frequently, but what’s more annoying is looking like you’re 20 years older than you are. Shoot for 1/2 of your body weight in ounces per day. * Want to keep your blood sugar under control AND look good naked? Build muscle You can lose all weight you want but if you want to keep it off, you must build muscle. Build a habit of consistently moving heavy objects at least 3x per week. Running, cycling, and yoga are great, but they won’t build muscle like strength training will. If you need help getting started, find a coach. *Want to really enjoy those extra years? The last two suggestions take a little more work (but they maybe the most important) Define your purpose. If you have something driving you, you’re more likely to stick around to see it through. It doesn’t have to be sneaking into a Dragon’s cave or taking the ring to Mordor, but it should get you excited. Find a community of like-minded humans to help you. Gollum was able to do it alone but we see how that turned out for him (side note, the only reason he survived was probably because he was strict Paleo ). Most of us do better when we’re surrounded by people who have similar goals and dreams. So yeah, if wanna look and feel like Bilbo on your 111th birthday, do the following: * Drink water * Lift heavy things * Figure out what you wanna do * Hang out with cool people
